Legislative Update: Effective October 1, 2023, Removes the requirement that the FR-44 Certificates of liability insurance are non-cancellable. Payment plans are available now that companies can cancel policies for non payment of monthly premium.
You can check the status of your license with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). If your license is currently suspended due to a DUI conviction you will see an FR (financial responsibility)suspension with a 9 digit number that begins with a 4. This is your FR44 case number.
As soon as the state electronically receives the FR-44 filing from your company and you reinstate your license, your license status will show as “valid” and you will no longer see your case number. Always contact the FLHSMV first to ask when you can remove the filing.
